Following the successful delivery of works at Claremont House, we have completed a further project for Verde Services, supporting the decarbonisation of student accommodation at the Glasgow Ballet School.
The Hello Student project involved the full upgrade of the domestic hot water system, replacing the legacy gas-fired plant with a modern, low-carbon electric solution.
The scope of works included the removal of existing instantaneous gas-fired water heaters and associated storage systems, and the installation of a new electric boiler LTHW system feeding high-efficiency calorifiers. The system was disinfected and seamlessly integrated into the existing plant room infrastructure, ensuring a smooth transition to the new setup.
Working within a live student accommodation environment, maintaining continuity of service was critical. Through careful planning and coordination, the team ensured that hot water availability was only interrupted for a single day, minimising disruption to the residents.
In addition to the plant room upgrade, the team also carried out the removal of a redundant heating system across the building, including radiators, followed by all necessary building works to reinstate affected areas.
By deploying two dedicated teams on-site, we successfully completed the full programme of works within a four-week period, demonstrating our ability to deliver complex projects efficiently without compromising on quality.
Gary Dwyer, Director at Verde Services, said: “It’s been a pleasure working with James Ramsay on this project. The team demonstrated a high level of professionalism throughout, with excellent attention to detail, quality workmanship and a proactive approach to project management. Communication and responsiveness were strong at every stage, and we look forward to continuing to build on this successful partnership.”
This latest appointment reflects the strength of our working relationship with Verde Services, which is built on proven delivery and a shared commitment to high standards. The project further reinforces our expertise in delivering decarbonisation solutions within occupied buildings, helping clients transition to more sustainable, future-ready systems.
