We’re delighted to share the news that we’ve successfully relocated to our new business premises at 100 Summerlee Street – just around the corner from our former site at Queenslie Industrial Estate, Glasgow.
The move marks a step change in the future development of our business and represents a significant investment in new facilities.
Gary Shepherd, Managing Director at James Ramsay, said:
“The business has expanded rapidly in the past five years, so having outgrown our existing site, we took the opportunity to make a number of key strategic improvements across the entire business. This ensures we’re geared up for future growth as well as making significant improvements to existing operations.”
At just under 13,000 sq ft, the new premises has been fitted out to our bespoke design. Key features include:
- Upgraded manufacturing and fabrication areas with an on-site crane and job pack preparation zone
- A purpose-built workshop with individual welding bays, fixed gases and extraction facilities
- Dedicated training areas to support our growing apprenticeship programme
- A double-height office area increasing capacity from 25 to 40 desks
- Greatly enhanced staff welfare facilities, including showers
Gary added:
“A great deal of thought and planning went into the design process and we can now ensure a real focus on improving our entire facility management. The layout lends itself well to much more effective management of space, storage and waste, and this is very much geared towards a lean approach to engineering.”
