As part of National Apprenticeship Week 2026, we’re proud to celebrate the progress of our newest apprentices and the important role they play in the future of our business and the wider engineering industry.
In the past year, we welcomed two first-year apprentices to the team – Jamie Gorman and Dylan Rush – both are already developing valuable skills for life while training through Glasgow Kelvin College.
Jamie Gorman – Heating & Ventilation
Jamie joined us as a Heating and Ventilation apprentice, combining practical on-site experience with academic learning at Glasgow Kelvin College.
In his first year, Jamie has been building a strong foundation in heating and ventilation systems, working alongside experienced engineers across a variety of projects. He has shown a positive attitude, a strong focus on health and safety and a real commitment to learning on the job.
Jamie said: “Starting my apprenticeship at James Ramsay has given me the chance to learn real skills that I’ll use for the rest of my career. Working on site while studying at college helps everything make sense, and I’m gaining confidence every day by learning from experienced engineers.”
Dylan Rush – Service & Maintenance
Dylan joined the business as a Service and Maintenance apprentice, also studying at Glasgow Kelvin College.
Working closely with the service team, Dillon is gaining hands-on experience in planned and reactive maintenance, fault-finding and customer-facing work. His role is helping him develop both technical ability and transferable skills such as communication, problem-solving and teamwork.
Dylan said: “The apprenticeship has been a great way to build skills for life. I’m learning how systems work, but also how to work professionally with customers and colleagues. Every day is different, and I’m learning something new all the time.”

Apprenticeships are a vital part of how we support young people, develop skills for life and build a strong, sustainable workforce for the future.
Jamie and Dylan represent the next generation of engineers, and their early progress highlights the value of combining structured training, college learning and real-world experience.
We’re delighted to have them on board and look forward to supporting both apprentices as they continue their development throughout National Apprenticeship Week 2026 and beyond.
