Summer may be a quieter time for many businesses, but at James Ramsay, it’s often one of our busiest periods of the year.
During the past few months, our teams have been working across numerous client sites, delivering a wide range of summer shutdown works, from major servicing and system overhauls to essential maintenance, repairs and upgrades.
These projects are always about much more than the work taking place on site. With a limited shutdown window and our clients relying on us to have their systems fully operational for their return to work, planning, organisation and teamwork are critical.
Our engineers, project teams and service managers have worked closely with clients throughout each project to understand their priorities, coordinate access and agree the work programme. Behind the scenes, our supply and delivery partners have also played an important role, helping us ensure the right equipment, parts and materials were available when needed.
And when the shutdown clock is ticking, speed matters. Our teams have worked efficiently and safely to complete planned works, respond to additional requirements and keep projects moving – often within extremely tight timeframes.
One client-side Engineering & Operations Manager summed up the importance of this collaborative approach: “Thank you for the coordination and planning that made sure everything on site, especially in my areas of responsibility for the thermal energy plant, went to plan, including the additional task of the steam valve replacement. I would also like to thank the wider team for making this happen, considering the timeframe you were given to work with! It’s appreciated.”
That feedback means a great deal to us because it reflects what we aim to deliver on every project: good planning, clear communication, technical expertise and a team that gets the job done with health and safety as a top priority.
As summer shutdown season draws to a close, we’d like to thank our clients, engineers, project teams, suppliers and delivery partners for the collaboration and commitment that has helped make this year’s programme such a success.
Most importantly, our clients are now back up and running, with their sites fully operational and ready for the next phase of the year.
Always on!
